7. Chipping to Get Up and Down More Often
When you are faced with a less than full swing shot where you have to chip the ball a little in the air and let it roll a longer time period, apply what I call the
The Chip and Run Formula:

- First choose a less lofted club like an 8 iron.
- Next, tilt the shaft upright to make it look like the shaft angle of your putter. This will help you automatically take the club back and through like a pendulum.
- Now with the same clock you used from Article #6 for The Pitch Shot Formula, swing the 8 iron back to 7:00 and through to 5:00. Chip a ball doing this and note how far the ball goes.
- Now do the same stroke with a 6 iron, and then a 4 iron, and note where they end up on good shots.
